Frank Crowley Criminal Courts Building
Dikita performed design services for this 600,000 SF $58M high-rise Dallas County Courts Building. Dikita was responsible for space planning and coordination of courtrooms, 400 inmate cells, judge’s chambers, the Adult Probation Department, and the Public Defender’s Office. The project included the following:
- Interior Design
- Civil Site Development
- Structural Engineering
- Electrical Design
Dikita prepared construction documents for site and underground utilities for the building and performed structural engineering design services for the steel-frame structure. Dikita’s professional and technical staff monitored the progress and quality of the project – which was comprised of two primary objectives.
Objective 1– Design Team. The project manager, team leaders and section managers prepared design and detailed drawings reviewing all active progress on a weekly basis. The review schedule was implemented in order to adhere to the rigid schedule and contain costs.
Objective 2 – The Technical Review Team: Senior professionals monitored the progress and quality of the design work. Dikita also assisted the client architect in soliciting public input.
