Fort Worth ISD 2013 Bond Program
Dikita has provided program and project management for numerous bond projects at the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD). Dikita provided design and construction oversight while providing coordination between the District, the design team, and the contractor. This included oversight of the schedule, budget, quality assurance, cost estimates, design and constructability document review, and acquisition of the close out documents. We also participated in the effort of keeping the neighborhood informed of the project design and status.
Dikita’s management of the FWISD 2013 Bond Program was completed on time and under budget, saving $90M to move forward for additional projects.
The range of services provided encompassed several significant areas, including District-wide security and technology upgrades, the implementation of District-wide Pre-Kindergarten, the addition of nearly 300 classrooms, the construction of new kitchens and school cafeterias, the establishment of two new elementary schools, the development of field houses, the creation of Wi-Fi study areas, and the renovation of existing facilities to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Moreover, we were responsible for the successful completion of a Performing and Fine Arts Academy and a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Academy.
Our services extended beyond design and construction management to include project controls, close-out, post-construction management, procurement process management, and thorough review of A/E design and bid packages. This comprehensive approach ensured effective management and oversight of all critical aspects throughout the project.
Among the numerous projects completed, there were three finished schools that served as comparable solutions to this community.
The Westpark Elementary School (80,000 SF – $15M)
Constructed on a very tight site adjacent to a residential neighborhood with limited access that had to be shared with the residents.
Van Zandt Guinn Elementary (67,000 SF – $14M)
Washington Heights Elementary (60,000 SF – $12M)
