South Oak Cliff High School (DISD 2015 Bond Program)

South Oak Cliff High School is among the educational institutions in the $1.6B 2015 DISD Bond Program. We provided program management services, which encompassed a wide range of improvements.

The 264,000 square foot high school includes a new and welcoming front entrance with a 2 1/2 story atrium and the creation of new learning environments for the career/technical training area, a collegiate academy, fine and performing arts, life skills and general education. Another significant aspect of the project was the addition of a competition gym with seating for 2,000 spectators. This gym also serves as a storm shelter, ensuring the safety of students and staff during severe weather events. Additionally, a 200-seat auxiliary gym was built to further enhance the sports facilities. Encompassing a three-story, light-filled concourse, the new addition seamlessly connected to the existing building.

The two-story addition introduced several new features, including administration offices, four state-of-the-art science labs, and a community meeting space. A new entryway provided convenient access to a beautifully landscaped courtyard, filling the area with natural light. The project also repurposed two underutilized courtyards into outdoor learning spaces, complete with new landscaping.
