I30 & I35E Corridor Interchange (Horseshoe Project)

The Horseshoe Project improved safety, increased capacity, and improved traffic flow in the heart of downtown Dallas. This five (5) mile project replaced the I-30 and I-35E bridges that cross the Trinity River, and reconstructed the (mixmaster) interchange which is ranked in the 20 most congested roadways in Texas. This project features the construction improvements including expansion, repaving a total of 23 lanes, and the addition to several new bridges, including the Margaret McDermott Bridge, Dallas’ second signature bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava.
