DART SOC-3

The South Oak Cliff Blue Line Extension (SOC-3) project extended the Blue Line south approximately 3 miles from Ledbetter Station to the University of North Texas (UNT) Dallas Campus. The extension provided development opportunities in the area adjacent to the new light rail corridor. As a part of this project, an existing station was expanded to fit 3-car trains (originally a 2-car station) and renovated to comply with current regulation requirements such as accessibility and safety as well as adding a kiss & ride facility. We designed and managed the construction of two at-grade stations, which included: bus access, kiss & ride access, general parking, and handicap parking is provided at both stations.

The project was awarded on June 25, 2013 and revenue service began two months ahead of schedule in October 2016, $2M under budget. Dikita formed a 49 percent joint venture partnership with HNTB, known as the Blue Alliance Partners (BAP). BAP was the prime designer of a full range of professional services required to design and manage the construction.
