Firm History
Dikita Enterprises, Inc. is a family owned and operated company, founded by Lucious Williams on November 16, 1979 on a 90-day loan. Within a decade, Lucious transformed that loan into a thriving business. His unwavering dedication paid off when Dikita Enterprises successfully secured its first million-dollar contract with DART, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey. It is the oldest African American owned, award-winning engineering and consulting firm in North Texas, headquartered in Dallas. Dikita employs 50 people and has served as program, construction, and project managers for educational and governmental facilities, hospitals, municipalities, public transit, aviation, roadways, and highways.
Among their client base is Lancaster, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Dallas and Fort Worth ISD, DFW International Airport, Dallas County, City of Dallas, Texas A&M, TxDOT, North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), and others, including its long-standing 30+ year relationship with Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
Lucious served as Dikita’s Founder and Organizer, President and CEO, for 30 years before passing the leadership and operations to his oldest daughter, Eve, in 2010. He currently serves as Dikita’s Chairman and Director of Government Affairs. From 1947-1951, Lucious played second base for the Memphis Red Sox. He was drafted into the U.S. Military in 1951 and served in the Korean War. He was later inducted into The Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame on February 24th, 2018.
Eve served as Dikita’s Chief Financial Officer for 27 years prior to transitioning to President & CEO in 2010. She is directly responsible for the company’s growth nationally.
Under Eve’s leadership, Dikita has won several awards, accolades, and nods within the AEC industry over the past 40 years.
